The following three Carol Reed titles, from the Granada International film collections, will screen in the Cannes Classics section of the festival:

The Way Ahead (1944) After an infantry battalion has suffered casualties at Dunkirk, the gaps in the ranks must be filled by ‘call-ups'. The men that arrive range from a boilerman and a rent collector to a nervous business man - but what will become of them. Starring David Niven, Trevor Howard, William Hartnell, Peter Ustinov, John Laurie, Jimmy Hanley and Stanley Holloway.

Odd Man Out (1947) Johnny, the idealist leader of an illegal organisation holds up a linen mill in order to gain money, but during the raid is shot and badly wounded. After falling from the getaway car, Johnny is forced to hide in the city, and finds himself in the company of three shady characters. Starring Robert Newton, James Mason, Fay Compton, William Hartnell and Cyril Cusack.

A Kid For Two Farthings (1955) Joe is a six-year-old boy, who is heartbroken when his pet chicken disappears. His landlord, Kandinsky, decides to tell him the story of a unicorn with magic qualities. One day Joe spies a young goat with a single horn. He believes he has found the mythical unicorn. To Kandinsky's surprise, however, the boy's wishes start to come true. Starring Celia Johnson and Diana Dors.

To mark this year's centenary of Carol Reed's birth, Granada International are digitally re-mastering these films in High Definition. These new digital versions are available internationally (excluding North America), through Park Circus, for theatrical licensing and distribution.
