Park Circus is delighted to present world premieres of two brand new 4K restorations at this year's Festival de Cannes on behalf of our studio partners, with both titles set to screen in the Cannes Classics programme.
Paramount Pictures' Sunset Boulevard (75th Anniversary) will screen on the beach on Saturday 17 May as part of Cinéma de la Plage, while Warner Bros.' Barry Lyndon (50th Anniversary) will close Cannes Classics on Friday 23 May.
Following its Cannes debut, Park Circus will theatrically re-release this stunning new 4K restoration of Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon for its major 50th anniversary in the UK and internationally from 18 July 2025, supported by brand new marketing materials.
A UK and international theatrical re-release of Billy Wilder's Sunset Boulevard in an equally spectacular new 4K restoration will follow from Park Circus in Q4 2025, supported by fresh marketing assets and celebrating the Oscar®-winning film's landmark 75th anniversary.
Barry Lyndon
Barry Lyndon is presented in the film’s photographed aspect ratio of 1.66:1, as specified in a December 8, 1975, letter from director Stanley Kubrick to projectionists. This new 4K restoration was sourced from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The high-definition transfer, created in 2000 under the supervision of Leon Vitali (Kubrick’s personal assistant), served as a color reference for this restoration. The 5.1 surround audio mix was created from restored original soundtrack stems.

Sunset Boulevard
Meticulously restored in 4K from rare archival elements, Sunset Boulevard returns with unmatched visual clarity and a newly expanded 5.1 sound mix. Utilizing cutting-edge audio technology and decades-old prints, this restoration honors every frame of Billy Wilder’s masterpiece.
