Park Circus to represent MGM film library

Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios (MGM) and Park Circus are pleased to announce that, effective from 1st July 2011, Park Circus has been appointed the repertory theatrical sales representative for MGM's impressive library of motion pictures.

The agreement covers all territories outside of the United States and Canada.

Nick Varley, who negotiated the deal on behalf of Park Circus, said, "We are delighted to have concluded this agreement that will see many of these key classic film titles coming back to cinemas around the world. Through innovative marketing and the continued use of digital cinema technology, our specialised expertise in selling classic films to exhibitors and distributors will ensure that we are able to maximise the full potential of the MGM catalogue. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with MGM.”

Key highlights in the 4,000 title MGM library include the James Bond, Pink Panther and Rocky franchises, together with cinema classics such as WEST SIDE STORY, THE APARTMENT and THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. In partnership with MGM, Park Circus will work closely with exhibitors and distributors to bring these cinema greats back to the big screen.

Some of the first projects in 2011 resulting from this deal include the 50th anniversary of ten-time Academy Award winner, WEST SIDE STORY. The film will be released back into theatres in a new 2K Digital Cinema Package (DCP), supported by a new trailer and marketing materials. Also in the pipeline is the new restoration of Ken Loach's study of working class life in northern England, KES. Park Circus will work closely with key festivals, exhibitors and distributors to ensure maximum exposure for these projects. In addition, Park Circus will partner with MGM HD Television on both titles.
