Ceiling Zero
Academy Award winner James Cagney stars as a cocky young pilot whose recklessness causes to the death of a friend in Ceiling Zero. Dizzy Davis (Cagney--Mr. Roberts, Yankee Doodle Dandy) is a talented, wild and irresponsible pilot whose friend, Jake Lee (Pat O'Brien--Knute Rockne All American), gives him a job hoping employment will help tame Davis. Instead, Davis misses a flight because he is busy stealing a co-worker's girlfriend, and the inexperienced young pilot dies in a crash. Now, the only way that Davis can make amends with his fellow pilots is to volunteer for a one-way test flight. Based on the play by Frank Wade and directed by Howard Hawks (His Gal Friday, Bringing Up Baby).
