Nobody Lives Forever

Cardsharp Nick Blake returns home after serving in WWII to discover that a rival syndicate now controls New York's gambling rackets--and that his girlfriend, Toni, has run off with his money. Looking for a fresh start, Nick heads to California, where he becomes reacquainted with his underworld contacts and gets involved in a scam to steal an inherited fortune from a young widow. To his surprise, he finds himself falling in love with her and tries to get out of the deal.
