The Little Hours

Alessandra lives in a convent in Italy where she is kept company by fellow nuns - the mischievous Alberta, often found sneaking off with the holy wine, and the prudish Genevra, who keeps a watchful eye over everyone. When Alessandras father turns up having failed, yet again, to find his daughter a suitor, Alessandra sinks into despair about her future. One day, the convent hires a new garden hand, Masetto, a supposedly mute philanderer seeking refuge from his former master. Sparks fly immediately between Alessandra and Masetto, however the other sisters also have their fantasies titillated by the newcomer. Soon the sleepy little convent turns into a hotbed of scandal and intrigue, revealing that underneath things may never have been quite as orderly as they seemed.
