The Great Garrick
Celebrated 18th-century British actor David Garrick receives an invitation from the Comédie-Française in Paris, but they mistakenly hear that he's planning to give them acting lessons. Insulted, the troupe arranges to stay at his inn and put on an outlandish performance to convince him of their acting skills. When Countess Germaine de la Corbe, who is fleeing an arranged marriage, shows up, Garrick thinks her romantic advances are part of the plot.
