From the Archive: Psycho

With the legendary director's intended original theatrical cut now playing in French cinemas and arriving in the UK in May, we're reopening the doors to the Bates Motel and diving back into the archives for a behind the scenes look at the making of a definitive slasher classic: Alfred Hitchcock's Pyscho.

When Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) steals $40,000 to cover her boyfriend's debts, she flees to California - but makes an overnight stop at the Bates Motel, where she meets Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins), a mentally disturbed young man living under the domineering presence of his "mother"...

With 13 censored seconds restored, Psycho can now be seen as its celebrated director originally intended. The gallery below offers a behind the scenes look at the making of a quintessential Hitchcock classic, as well as a selection of promotional images.
